Today was tough. I was working on my fundraising campaign brief when Facebook reminded me that Kara published her last blog post three years ago on this day. Over the next three weeks I will either consciously or unconsciously relive what happened from then on to the moment I watched every last dream I had die.
But I don't want to dwell on that right now. Instead, I want to show you how things went down when I presented Kara's award at the US Air Guitar National Championships in San Francisco on the first day of this month. I did not know what I was going to say until minutes before I stepped onstage.
What happened was, well, facemelting.
