Well...I wrote a children’s book in 2011 under the pen name “Morocco Leonard” about my real-life pug Fiona and her stuffed beaver. The inspiration for this book, besides the antics of my incredibly goofy dog and her precious toy, happened after I babysat for my friends’ son. After reading this kid about a bazillion stories, I felt I could write and illustrate something that was fun for both kids and adults alike and so I did. My illustrations weren’t the best at the time but I still feel they are sweet, even now.
When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, due to not having energy for much else, I started drawing friends pets from pictures on social media, this helped me to hone my skills and my husband encouraged me to re-illustrate my book and release it under my true name, and so here I am, doing just that!
