I found this picture on social media, it is perfect. Whether or not I am happy with the outcome of this presidential race, I want all the votes counted, that is democracy. It is crazy that some republicans are protesting in different states with different requests of “stop the count” or “count the votes” depending on whether Trump is behind or lagging. Alt right Trump believers as well as Trump are not dissimilar to Scientology. Check out Leah Remini’s docuseries on Netflix about it, maybe you will see it too.
I am anxious, this election means a lot to me. I know I am not alone. I am wearing my chemotherapy pump as I write this, I am not doing too bad. Portland passed a measure that legalizes Magic Mushrooms, something I am very excited about. This is incredible medicine that can finally be utilized legally! I can personally attest to the benefits as I have felt way less anxiety and fear since I tried them after my diagnosis last year. Keep making fun of Portland but I think we are on to some cool shit here and it shows.
I can’t wait until this election is decided, though the job of getting our country in order is going to have to be worked on either way it goes, one of the ways will be a little more uphill and Mad Max Fury Road-like I am assuming, I hope we don’t go for that option but at least I have the right wardrobe for it.
I think I may take advantage of my Dexamethazone super steroids and make cookies just to distract myself from this madness, it is better than doom scrolling through the socials though a tad more calorie dense.
May we get our country back on track and a good place to be again, though I wish that would automatically happen if Biden takes office I am not that naive...I still wish it though but the cracks are showing and there is a lot of work to be done, we need to stop being complacent. If I see or hear another person say they just don’t vote because it doesn’t matter, my head might explode. If you don’t vote, you don’t care and you probably don’t care because you’re good, you don’t have to care because your privilege protects all the rights YOU need. Maybe think outside that privilege and vote for those who can benefit from that kind of support, just a thought.
